Vertex Engineering provides full-cycle engineering support for owners, agencies, and prime consultants delivering complex transit and infrastructure work. We lead multidisciplinary design teams, integrate constructibility and lessons-learned from prior MTA, NYCT, and DOT/DDC programs into early design decisions, and produce the technical deliverables that keep projects on schedule, on budget, and aligned with operating-agency standards. Vertex leads and supports project and program management on capital programs ranging from single-station rehabilitations to billion-dollar multi-station portfolios. Our leadership has directed feasibility studies, scoping, programming, and execution-phase delivery for ADA accessibility, station renewal, traction-elevator replacement, and roadway resurfacing programs under MTA C&D — including the agency's first Progressive Design-Build initiative. We bring the cross-discipline planning, force-account management, third-party approval coordination, and change-management discipline these programs demand, while keeping every party — owner, designer, design-builder, contractor, and utility — aligned to scope, schedule, and budget.

Vertex offers focused expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and in vertical transportation — the elevators and escalators that make ADA accessibility possible at hard-to-reach transit stations. Our leadership has directed the design and construction management of more than 18 traction-elevator replacements across upper Manhattan, including the 12 elevators at 168th, 181st, and 191st Street Stations and the 6 elevators at 181st and 190th Street Stations, plus elevator-related scopes on Astoria Blvd. Station, ADA Package 10 as well as design of 8 escalators in Manhattan. We cover hoistway structural rehabilitation, machine-room reconfiguration, fire alarm, power and communication integration, and the HVAC and lighting work that supports modern station infrastructure.

Vertex provides field-focused construction management on active transit and infrastructure projects, with deep experience as Resident Engineer in Charge, Quality Manager, and Owner's Representative on MTA C&D, NYCT, and DOT/DDC contracts. We run the day-to-day on site — supervising contractors and engineers, controlling submittals and RFIs, leading preparatory and hold-point inspections, enforcing safety and PPE protocols, and managing the documentation that keeps the project defensible and on track to closeout. Our CM work has delivered station rehabilitations, ADA accessibility projects, and elevator replacements ahead of schedule and under budget — including projects that absorbed COVID-19 supply-chain disruptions without losing date.

Vertex's project assurance and controls practice gives owners and program leads the visibility, discipline, and defensibility their capital programs need. We build and maintain the schedules, cost-tracking systems, risk registers, and quality programs that turn intent into deliverable — from independent cost estimates and quantified risk assessments at procurement, through earned-value tracking and change-management discipline during execution. Our leadership has acted as QA/QC Manager on multi-station MTA C&D programs, controlled measuring-and-testing equipment logs, led root-cause and corrective-action plan development, and coordinated structural and special inspections — implementing MTA C&D Quality Spec Section 01 40 00 from day one.

Vertex Engineering's Process Optimization practice helps owners and prime consultants get more value from the workflows that surround design, construction, change control, and quality. On large public-sector programs, the biggest gains often aren't in the design or the contract — they're in submittal turnaround, RFI cycles, constructibility reviews, and lessons-learned implementation. We assess the workflows already in place, identify the ones costing the program time or money, and redesign them within operating-agency rules. Our experience across MTA C&D, NYCT, and DOT / DDC programs makes every recommendation practical, defensible, and immediately implementable.
